Year 7 Sleep out
Year 7 Sleepout
On the 2nd of December a large number of our year 7 cohort and some of our 2023 school leaders (50 in total) attended our School Sleepout. Students began arriving around 6pm and were treated to a BBQ cooked by our fantastic leaders. We set up our gear before heading to the PAC for a true cinema experience: pop corn and lolly cups included. Mr Hampton then treated us to a new game: 9 square which was a real hit and this took us through to almost bed time. We retreated to our designated sleeping quarters, the boys managing to get some games in before lights out and the girls watching some movies, performing some dances and completing several hide and seek games (that finished well and truly into the night). With all the excitement, some sleep was had.
Breakfast was a real treat. Our leaders and Miss Devlin cooked up a feast in our catering kitchen, with Jack Gillam taking the reins as head chef. Students were treated to pancakes, toast, egg bread (sunshine toast) loads of bacon and hashbrowns and an array of breakfast juices. Stomachs were full, energy was high, smiles were everywhere. After breakfast we did a power clean up and finished with some final games in the gym before pick up. The night was an absolute blast!
A huge thank you to Mr Hampton, Mr Hall, Dylan Harney, Mrs Sushames, Miss Payne, Miss Devlin and Gemma Riddell for organising and supporting this event. An even bigger thank you to our new leaders who took up the challenge and in the process demonstrated exceptionally high standards, leadership, and team work – well done!
