This year, the school soccer roster looked very different from previous years. Due to limited participation, games were held every two weeks.

Girls

Parklands fielded a team in the Girls Division and another in the Senior Boys Division. In this year’s girls’ team, it has been great to see a number of girls sign up who had either never played, or hadn’t played for a few years. As the season progressed, the girl’s confidence grew immensely, and their efforts are to be commended. Going into their last game, they were still a chance to make the Grand Final! We are really proud of all the girls who participated this season. A big thank you to past student Maya Mitchell for coaching the girls!

Senior Boys

This year’s senior boys’ team was made up of boys from Year 7-10. Despite half the team being from the Junior School, the boys welcomed back many players from our 7-8 Championship Team of 2019. The season started really strongly, and the boys had vast confidence that they could go all the way again and break the Parklands Senior Boys Championship drought. As the season progressed it was great to see the senior boys assisting the junior boys and allow the team to grow. The boys managed to make the Grand Final against Burnie. After going down 1-0 early on, the boys steadied and took a 2-1 lead into half time. At half time, some minor changes were made tactically, and the boys put in a huge second half, running out 7-1 winners.

Well done to all for a great year. End of season awards will be presented at the upcoming assembly.
