Jocks Ball
On June 17, we had our annual Jocks Ball with the theme of red carpet or masquerade. The evening started with the leadership giving a brief explanation of how the night will go. We had Fairy Bread selling for $1 and Frog in a Pond selling for $2. We were also selling soft drinks and the normal canteen was open for all to purchase and enjoy. As the night continued, the music up lifted and got the crowd more involved and pumping, with songs including Timmy Trumpet, Parachute and the Whomp. As soon as these songs were playing, everyone stopped their conversations and got up on the dance floor with the leadership team and did our amazing school dances. The night was already on a roll, but to spice it up we gave out our HPE, Culture King and Queen Awards for the night. Everybody receiving a great reaction to their names being called up for their achievement. Whilst the dancing continued, there was a photo booth in the staff room behind the Kitchen where Mr Swayne showed off his photography skills taking pictures of the students having a blast. There were props and funny filters for the students to muck around, have fun and capture the night. As the night was beginning to close, we handed out the best haircut, best dancer and Jock and Jokette. The best Haircut award went to the only person it could, the Almighty Brody Jones killing it with his swag. The best dancer award went to Gianne Kingdon, absolutely killing it with her dancing skills. And Finally, we had our Jock and Jokette. Everybody was in competition for the crowns, but it eventually went to Raidyn Young and Gabbi Philips. Overall a great night and the whole parklands leadership team can’t wait to do it again. Thank you.
