On Friday August 13, ACE students ventured to Kart Magic in Latrobe.
Although some of the students started out a bit nervous and hesitant, with the support of their peers nearly everyone jumped into a kart and had a red hot go. We saw a tight race between Xavier Brown, Chevvy Fraser and Kade Schuman in the first heat, with Zander Brown taking the opposite approach and being stuck at the slow speed for the duration, although this certainly didn’t stop his ripper sense of humour, with a smile and wave each (very slow) lap. Nic Dobson gave the others a run for their money, and absolutely won the most thumbs as he went past supporting onlookers. Ryan Clark manned the pits and was ready to be back up driver if needed!

With our very own Kart superstar, Tayah Sheppard in the second heat we thought the title would be taken out! However, it was Piper Leslie and Jordan Jackson who were neck and neck for the win. Hot on their tails were Lilly Dolting and Emma Fraser, who were both a little concerned about operating the karts to begin with but ended with the pedal to the metal!

All the students had a lot of fun, were respectful, represented the school in a wonderful manner, showed support and encouragement for one and other and created a positive memory for our first excursion as the whole ACE program. We look forward to sharing our Montezuma Falls hiking experience in the near future.
