"The Beanie Process"
About 4 months ago, the idea was brought to our attention that people were wanting to wear beanies as it was cold, wet, and the beginning of Winter. By having a school beanie, we thought people would not get in trouble for wearing beanies that were not part of our uniform. By wearing the customised beanies, students would be representing Parklands High and this could be worn as an official part of the school uniform. We started by writing up a petition for our fellow students and staff members to sign if they agreed that the school should bring in customised Parklands High beanies.
We then arranged a meeting with Mrs Dudley, so that we could talk about our ideas. Once the meeting was organised, we created a presentation of our strategies and designs. From there we had to put our heads together and figure out what company we wanted to style the beanies for us; we also had to pick the company that offered the best prices. The next step of the process was the campaigning and ordering. We also had to discuss the prices of the different companies that were offering to manufacture them and how and where we would get money to pay for them. That’s when we came up with the idea of pre-ordering from staff and students so that we received the money up front. The pre-ordering allowed us to gain the money we needed for us to order them in from the manufacturers.
Once all the hard work was done, all we had to do was wait for them to be crafted and delivered. This took a few weeks but when they did arrive, people were over the moon to be receiving their new Parklands High beanies.
