Fitness For Life Challenge Course
Fitness for Life
One of the many alternate learning programs we offer at Parklands High is our Fitness For Life class. This is made up of male students who participate in activities designed to improve their leadership and teamwork skills, while also enhancing their physical fitness. On the last day of term 3, this class travelled to the View Road Reserve to complete a gruelling challenge course. The class were given the task of carrying two large logs and a long, wet and heavy rope through the entire course. Blake Horch and Joey Buchanan were the assigned leaders for the day and demonstrated great communication skills and encouragement to get the class through the course. The course included walking knee high in muddy water and climbing steep hills, all with the logs and rope still being carried. To add to this, the students needed to carry their back packs with them all day. The boys successfully completed the course and were certainly physically and mentally fatigued by the end of it, not to mention being completely covered in mud! Well done to everyone involved for a challenging but successful day.
